We are taking a further step in the digitalisation of the agricultural sector by implementing new technologies in the field.

Our sensors measure relative humidity and air temperature, as well as soil moisture and temperature at 2 depths, taking 6 measurements per hour.

The collected data allow us to obtain valuable agronomic information to improve irrigation management, prevent weather conditions and even characterize phenology.

The monitoring of soil moisture content by our sensors enables irrigation to be optimised: irrigation is applied in a timely manner and in appropriate quantities to conserve water as a natural resource and to increase product quality and farm profitability.

Sensors make it easier for farmers to access information and make earlier decisions, as well as save time in data analysis, better crop planning or process optimisation.

Sensors should be placed at different depths in representative areas of the soil to monitor soil water movement and depletion within the root zone. This will allow us to know the humidity and determine the use of water by the crop over time.

Since sensors measure the water content near the surface, it is important to avoid air pockets and excessive soil compaction around them to obtain more representative readings of the natural soil.

They can be buried horizontally or perpendicular to the ground surface. To place a sensor in deeper installations, a hole must be made in advance to insert the sensor at the desired depth.

Subsequently, the sensor should be covered with soil around it, ensuring good contact between the soil and the sensor.

Sending data to VISUAL (APP and web) will start as soon as the sensor is installed. It is programmed to take 1 reading of each sensor every hour. With this system it is possible to record information of water content and temperature throughout the growing season.
