Everything you need to know about VisualNACert: crops, users, connectivity, satellite, plant protection products, field logbook, app and much more.

Esencial

What is VisualNACert?

VisualNACert is a field data management platform built on artificial intelligence for the agrifood industry. Founded in 2014 in Rafelbunyol, Valencia, it now manages more than 4 million hectares and works with over 400 companies. We train models on our own agronomic context and on each client’s data — we do not sell generic models.

How do I comply with Royal Decree 1051/2022 using VisualNACert?

FertiPRO calculates the fertilisation rate by plot, combining soil, water and organic matter analysis, and generates reports compliant with Royal Decree 1051/2022 ready to submit. Traceability is automatically linked to the digital field logbook and the fertilisation plan.

What is CSRD and how does VisualNACert handle it?

CSRD (the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, EU Directive 2022/2464) requires large companies to report their environmental and social footprint. VisualNACert generates CSRD reports automatically from the data you already record: carbon, water and energy footprint per kilo produced, with no double entry.

Does Visual work without an internet connection?

Yes. The mobile app works online and offline. It captures data in the field even with no signal and syncs automatically once the connection returns — nothing is lost.

How many weeks does an implementation take?

A standard implementation is 12 weeks. For cooperatives the average is three months. We start with a contained pilot and scale in layers — there are no 18-month migrations.

Does VisualNACert replace my ERP?

No. VisualNACert is the agronomic data layer that connects to your ERP, CRM and BI through a two-way API. Your current stack stays in charge; we give it back actionable field data and pass on what it needs for invoicing, purchasing or reporting.

Which crops have a specialised module?

Nine: vine, citrus, arable crops, vegetables, tropical fruit, stone fruit, tubers, olive groves and nuts. Each with its own cycle, pests, diseases, optimal windows and specific regulations.

Can I connect machinery to VisualNACert?

Yes. We integrate with My John Deere and other fleets, air-blast sprayers and application equipment. Interoperability runs both ways: VisualNACert sends orders to the machinery and receives telemetry in real time.

What ROI can I expect from implementing VisualNACert?

Results vary by sector. Measured examples: −27% in administrative costs per member (cooperatives), −35% impact from weather events (fruit and vegetables), −22% in overall losses (processing industry), +18% productivity per hectare. The framework for assessing ROI before investing is explained on the blog.

Which countries is VisualNACert available in?

Spain is our main market. We also serve France, Italy, Portugal and the Netherlands. Latin America is in phase 2.

Who trains the AI models?

We do, at our experimental farm in Horta Nord, Valencia, and with real client data. We do not test models on a computer: we test them in the soil, with tomatoes, in real weather. Every algorithm passes through those five hectares before it reaches the platform.

Who is behind VisualNACert?

Lucía Iborra and Mercedes Iborra, who founded the company after more than 15 years at Norma Agrícola, a fruit and vegetable certification body. VisualNACert is recognised as an Innovative SME by Spain’s Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, and under the España Entrepreneurial Nation strategy by the High Commissioner.

Agroclimate and forecasting

Which agroclimatic indices can I consult?

You can consult chill hours, growing degree days, rainfall, daylight hours and evapotranspiration, with history from 2013.

How are chill hours calculated for my plot?

We measure accumulated hours below 7 ºC, with each chill hour being one hour under that temperature.

How are growing degree days calculated for my plot?

We measure accumulated degree days against a 12 ºC threshold, with each degree day being one degree of mean temperature above that threshold.

How can I see accumulated rainfall?

Once the plot is created, the rainfall index is available, calculated in litres per square metre accumulated daily.

How can I check the weather forecast?

You can see the forecast for your plots from the app, and check weather conditions anywhere in the world.

Satellites

Which indices are available?

You can consult NDVI (vigour index), LAI (crop growth) and NDII (plant water stress), available on maps from both web and app.

How many satellite images does Visual provide?

Visual has a satellite image every 5 days, and keeps them all in the archive.

How do I find out when there is a new satellite image of my plot?

You receive a notification on your phone about new images, including any significant changes.

When are satellite images available for my crop units?

Images are available as soon as the plot geometry is registered, along with the full archive.

How far back does the image archive go?

You can consult history from December 2016, with comparisons and charts in the satellite report.

Can satellite images be viewed offline?

Yes, as long as you have downloaded the working area beforehand.

How do satellite images help me?

They show crop condition, identify problem areas and generate information for fast, sound decision-making.

Fitosanitarios

How does Visual help me use authorised plant protection products?

Visual has a plant health information service with crop-specific recommendations, PDFs and history from 2016. You can create your own product lists.

How often are plant protection products updated?

Visual updates the products authorised by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture monthly, automatically.

How can I check which plant protection products I have applied?

Visual offers multiple search criteria, reports, filters, interactive maps and field logbooks.

What happens to products that are no longer authorised?

They are kept in the archive for consultation when needed, which is useful during audits and inspections.

Field logbook

Does it include a field logbook?

Visual automatically generates a complete field logbook with the fields required by the main European standards, letting you choose which sections to include.
